Chicago was nothing like I had anticipated, it had a charming balance between the busy city life filled with skyscrapers and tourists while also having the peacefulness of Lake Michigan and many parks around the city.
Route 66 also known as the mother road, one of the original highways in the U.S was established in Chicago.
No trip to Chicago is complete without a visit to Millennium Park. Filled with the infamous bean, the cloud gate, and water structures for those hot Chicago days. Millennium Park is the home to many festivals and events for example when I was in town, The Blues Festival was too!
Lake Michigan was a view I’ll never forget, I had never seen a Great Lake before and to say the least, I was not disappointed. Visitors can enjoy a picnic by the lake or have a nice time walking and admiring its beauty.
Grant Park is another must see destination. Enjoy the peacefulness while looking at the Buckingham Fountain. It is not as busy as Millennium Park, so if you’re looking for a more relaxing time away from crowds, Grant Park is the place to be. You can enjoy a cold drink or hot coffee depending on the weather.
Also, watch a show at the Chicago Theater for an authentic experience
